Announcement: VHT organises an expert seminar

The one day workshop will be held at the “Gesellschaft für Schweißtechnik“ in Hannover and deals with how to assess the weld seams of cargo stoppers without extensive metrological efforts.

The participants will be introduced to the usual welding methods of cargo stoppers and will receive information about filler material, the fillet weld geometry and the calculation of welding seams.
Theoretical and practical explanation of the criteria and measurement methods for the evaluation of fillet welds will be given, too.

The practice-oriented seminar addresses superintendents, supercargoes, warranty surveyors and employees of stevedoring companies.

The program starts with a come-together dinner the evening before the seminar.

Further seminars will follow. If you have any questions please contact Mr. J. Dirksen or Mrs. B. Stützle at VHT in Bremen.

New Year's Reception 2017

New Year‘s Reception 2017

With 340 invited domestic and foreign guests we launched the New Year on January 20th with our traditional New Year's Reception at the Haus Schütting in Bremen.

Following the welcome address of our Chairman, Mr. H.-C. Enge, it was essential to refresh existing contacts and to talk about what moved us in 2016 and which tasks will await us in 2017.

Despite the still difficult situation in the shipping industry we are confident, but not uncritical, to look into the coming year and to expect the upcoming challenges.

We would like to thank all our guests who came in such large numbers, especially those who managed to find their way to Bremen despite the bomb squad working close to the Hamburg-Bremen railway line.
